Where do I start? This place is amazing.
I stopped in on the evening of my first full day in Barcelona for a drink and wasn't disappointed- probably the best bourbon Old Fashioned I've had anywhere. I came back a couple of days later for lunch and was surprised again by just how great everything was. The caprese is wonderful, especially with the pan con tomate. I've also tried the Aquacate, a simple vegetarian sandwich with avocado, sauteed spinach, lemon, and cheese - delicious!
We're only a week into the trip, and I can't wait to have dinner here again. It tends to get busy later in the evening, so I'd recommend coming earlier or perhaps calling ahead for reservations. (I'm not sure if they accept reservations or not, but it's worth a shot.)
To top it off, the staff is very friendly and quite patient with my rusty Spanish.
I found this place walking along Calle de la Princesa in El Born. It's a nice bistro/bar hidden in a corner where two narrow streets intersect. Very nice and friendly atmosphere. The kind of place that makes you want to linger over one more glass of wine or cocktail. Jazz on Wednesday evenings makes it even more delightful.
Story is a real gem! In a city full of tourist traps, this spot is genuine. We ended up there two nights in a row. The food is very thoughtfully planned and prepared, and everything we ordered was terrific. The cocktails don’t disappoint, and the staff is incredibly nice. Don’t miss out.
