Dora was a great late night spot to grab a bite! My husband and I as well as some of his co-workers were staying at a hotel nearby and many of the restaurants in walking distance were closed (this is around 9PM). We we walked by Dora we were thankful that they were 1) open and 2) offered vegetarian options!
Thoughts and Recommendations:
- Tapas were decent! Amongst us we ordered a variety of items and we were all very happy with our choices: Pan con Tomate, Patatas Bravas (Las Bravas), Pasta Bolognese, Spinach and Tomato Penne pasta, and John Ford Burger.
- Good wine! I ordered the house wine and man it was so good and cheap! Equivalent to $5 a glass.
- Loved the decor in here! As we waited for our food we couldn't help but noticed the interior design at Dora. It gives off this modern-retro train station vibe. The front of the restaurant is all glass with brass metal frames, the lighting fixtures are these massive retro round orbs, booths are emerald green leather, the upholstered chairs were old-timey but in good condition, and there are beautiful large plants hanging from the ceiling. It was something like out of a movie set! So pretty in it's own way.
Overall, this a solid little tapas place in the heart of Barcelona. The food and service were all pleasant but nothing that really knocked my socks off, hence the 4 stars and not 5.
This was a nice place to have a paella, Cesar salad , hummus and fish (corvina). All were very good. The house wine was excellent and a great price. Really enjoyed this restaurant we happened to walk by and the service was excellent. Haven't had another paella here so any judge it yet.
